AJ Prager

is a filmmaker from New Jersey, currently living in Los Angeles. She writes and directs high concept comedy science fiction that hopes to make others feel less alone in their meat containers. She writes funny, real characters in unreal situations and dark stories with a nervy cheeriness rooted in queer identity. Her work has been highlighted by Nashville Film Festival, Women In Film’s Mentorship Circle, the Humanitas Organization, and the Blacklist. She sold her first horror screenplay in 2021 and produced her first feature in 2023 for wide release in 2025.

She is a United States Presidential Scholar in the Arts and YoungArts National Scholar. Her dark comedies have screened at NYC Indie Film Festival, CineQuest, Heartland Film Festival, and the Smithsonian. She loves Korean BBQ, pole vaulting, and has synesthesia, which makes music super colorful.
